Toll Tag Rate Bump Ahead for Drivers.

Starting July 1, driving on North Texas toll roads will cost a bit more. The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is upping the TollTag rate by a penny, bringing the cost to 22 cents per mile.

If you’re heading up the Chisholm Trail Parkway or bouncing between suburbs on the Dallas North Tollway, expect to feel it, especially if you commute often.

NTTA says the rate increase helps chip away at $8.8 billion in toll road debt and keeps major projects moving. That includes widening key stretches and prepping for new expansions in their five-year plan.

For Benbrook residents who use TollTag, the bump is still the cheapest option. Without it, the ZipCash rate doubles. TollTags don’t have fees, don’t expire, and also work for parking at DFW and Love Field airports.

Bottom line: if you’re driving NTTA roads, having a TollTag still saves you money, even with the penny bump.
