For students at Benbrook Middle-High School, Principal Jason Oliver’s morning welcome has become a familiar part of arriving on campus. But students aren’t the only ones getting his attention.
Oliver also keeps treats handy for the four-legged family members tagging along during morning drop-off.
Dogs that regularly make the trip have apparently learned the routine. Come through the drop-off line, and there just might be a treat waiting.
It’s a small gesture, but one that has become a fun part of the morning and another way Oliver is building relationships with Benbrook students and families.
Sometimes community really can be built one dog treat at a time.
