Long before her current run for Benbrook City Council Place 6, Whitney Hughes was already finding ways to serve around town.
Hughes recently shared photos from the 2014 Benbrook Relay for Life, where she volunteered as the event’s accounting chair.
The community fundraiser brought neighbors together in support of the fight against cancer, while giving Hughes an opportunity to meet and work alongside people from across Benbrook.
“I met so many incredible community members for an important cause,” Hughes recalled.
More than a decade later, the photos offer a glimpse into Hughes’ earlier community involvement and a Benbrook Relay for Life event many longtime residents may remember.
