A fatal shooting, possibly involving road rage, has shut down eastbound Interstate 20 in southwest Fort Worth, creating a difficult Thursday morning commute just east of Benbrook.
Just before 7 a.m., all eastbound lanes of I-20 were closed near Granbury Road following a reported shooting that left one person dead. Traffic is being forced off the freeway at Granbury Road, with the closure affecting I-20 just east of Hulen Street.
Police and emergency personnel are on scene providing assistance, beginning their investigation and redirecting traffic.
Drivers heading east from Benbrook should avoid the area, use an alternate route, and expect significant delays well into the morning.
