The wait is over. Football season officially begins today as the Benbrook Bobcats hit the field to kick off preparations for the 2026 season.
Players will spend the week building toward Saturday’s intersquad scrimmage as coaches evaluate progress and the team settles into its daily practice routine.
Varsity, junior varsity, and freshman players are scheduled for evening practices throughout the week, with football pictures, a fundraiser kickoff, and acclimation activities also on the calendar.
Saturday’s intersquad scrimmage gives parents and fans their first opportunity to see the Bobcats in action this season. Freshmen and junior varsity are scheduled to begin around 8:30 a.m., followed by varsity at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Coaches are reminding players to complete their RankOne paperwork and physicals before participating, stay hydrated throughout the week, and check SportsYou regularly for updates.
