A Benbrook resident is asking the community for help identifying a person believed to be involved in a mailbox hit-and-run on San Angelo Street.
According to a social media post, the incident occurred on July 5 when a blue or purple Chevrolet Silverado allegedly struck the resident’s mailbox. The homeowner shared a still image from a security camera showing an individual approaching the front door after the incident, but said no contact information or note was left behind.
The post encouraged the individual to come forward and take responsibility before being identified by law enforcement. Community members also weighed in, discussing the possible legal consequences under Texas law, though any potential charges would depend on the circumstances and investigators’ findings.
Anyone who recognizes the individual or has information about the vehicle is encouraged to contact the Benbrook Police Department. The incident remains under investigation.
