A Winchester Estates resident is asking neighbors for help after items were stolen from a vehicle overnight on Royal Oak Drive, just off Jerry Dunn Parkway near Westpark Elementary School.
The incident occurred while the vehicle was parked on the street. The resident says police responded and canvassed the area, but they are now hoping nearby homes with security cameras may have footage or information that could help identify what happened.
Neighbors in the area expressed concern and frustration, noting that incidents like this are upsetting but not new. Several residents said their own cameras did not capture any activity and used the moment to remind others to remove valuables from vehicles and lock doors overnight.
Others encouraged neighbors to consider home security cameras or doorbell systems as an added layer of protection. Longtime residents also shared that vehicle burglaries often occur when items are left visible inside cars, urging everyone to stay vigilant.
Anyone with camera footage or helpful information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the affected resident or report tips directly to local law enforcement.
