If the sky looks a little hazy over the next few days, you’re not imagining it.
A new wave of Saharan dust is moving across Texas, with the heaviest concentrations expected today and throughout the week. The fine dust high in the atmosphere will create hazy conditions, reduce visibility, and paint the sky with colorful orange and red sunrises and sunsets.
While the dust is typically harmless for most people, those with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory conditions may notice reduced air quality and should consider limiting extended time outdoors.
For everyone else, the hazy skies come with one silver lining. If the forecast holds, the next couple of evenings could offer some of the most vibrant sunsets of the summer.
