Concerns over development activity near Trinity Estates are once again drawing attention from Benbrook residents.
Resident Mark Alan Cooper says he recently noticed dirt haulers bringing material into Phase 4 of Trinity Estates and reached out to Benbrook Engineering for clarification.
According to Cooper, the last information he received indicated the permit to haul dirt into Phase 3 had expired last August. He said he asked city officials whether a new permit had been issued for Phase 4 operations.
The issue quickly sparked additional online community discussion, including comments from resident Greg Clem, who expressed frustration over what he believes could be a lack of oversight regarding floodplain protections outlined in the city’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
“Thank you, Mark, for tracking this,” Clem wrote. “Would not surprise me at all if they did not have a permit. I will also send an email to the City asking.”
As questions continue to circulate, some residents say they are now seeking clearer communication from city leaders on permitting, floodplain concerns, and future development plans for the area.
For now, neighbors appear to be doing what neighbors often do in growing communities: watching closely, asking questions, and waiting for answers.
