A dominant playoff performance has landed Sebastian Martinez in the spotlight as Benbrook baseball fans rally behind the Bobcats standout in this week’s Fort Worth Area Baseball Player of the Week voting.
Known to many around the program as “Chevy,” Martinez delivered one of the strongest postseason outings of the year during Benbrook’s Bi-District playoff series against Bridgeport. The Bobcat pitcher threw a complete-game no-hitter across seven innings, allowing just one walk while striking out 15 batters.
The performance helped power Benbrook Bobcats Baseball to a Bi-District Championship and a trip to the Area Round of the playoffs.
Fans can cast their votes for Martinez using the online Fort Worth Area Player of the Week poll. Voting remains open until 10 p.m. Thursday.
