Lady Bobcats Battle the Elements at X-Town Soccer Tourney for a 1-1-1 Finish.

The Benbrook Lady Bobcats hit the road last week for the X-Town Tournament in Saginaw and came back with grit, momentum, and a record to be proud of.

The tournament opened Thursday with a solid 2-1 win over Emerson, powered by goals from Sydney Chavez and Lily Chavez, with assists from Zoe Clark and Eleanor Vazquez.

Friday brought fierce winds and an equally tough matchup against Montgomery, ending in a 1-1 draw after Grace Klaerner buried a perfectly placed free kick just under the crossbar.

Klaerner was not done yet. She later led the Lady Bobcats basketball team to a win over Dunbar that same night, making it a memorable day across two sports.

Saturday morning delivered freezing temperatures and a hard-fought match against Wylie. While the result did not fall Benbrook’s way, the Lady Bobcats’ defense stood tall and kept the match competitive from start to finish.

The Lady Bobcats wrapped up the tournament at 1-1-1 and now sit at 5-2-1 on the season. The previously scheduled Tuesday matchup against Joshua has been canceled, giving the team time to rest and recover.

The Lady Bobcats are set to return to action Friday night, January 23, at 7 pm against Paschal, weather permitting.
