The Benbrook Bobcats hit the court at the Aggieland Invitational looking to settle the score against Life Waxahachie after an early-season loss. For much of the game, they did just that.
Both teams traded solid defense and disciplined offense early, and Benbrook looked sharp out of the gate. As the game wore on, the Bobcats struggled to find rhythm on offense, going cold late while Life capitalized down the stretch. The final score did not fully reflect how tight and competitive the matchup was, but the loss ended Benbrook’s unbeaten run in tournament play.
The Bobcats now sit at 13-7 on the season and 3-1 in the tournament. Their run is not over. Benbrook will play for third place tomorrow at 9 am against the loser of tonight’s matchup between Huffman Hargrave and Davenport. Only four teams remain in action.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Bobcats dropped a tough contest to the Alvarado Lady Indians, falling 52 to 30. The tournament has been challenging so far, but there is little time to dwell. The Lady Bobcats are back on the floor today at 4:30 pm to face Trinity, with results still pending at the time of this report.
More updates, scores, and coverage from the Aggieland Invitational will be available as information becomes available. Stay tuned as both Bobcat squads continue to compete.
