A local digital creator has spent the past several months capturing a part of Fort Worth many residents rarely see up close.
Brian Luenser, known for his aerial photography, was invited by the leadership of Pioneers Rest Cemetery to film a few drone shots for the cemetery’s 175th anniversary gala. What started as a small project turned into something much deeper.
Pioneers Rest is Fort Worth’s first official cemetery and the resting place of many of the city’s earliest settlers. As Brian visited week after week, often on Sunday mornings, he began to feel connected to the people buried there. The stones told only part of their stories, so he searched for old photographs and paired faces with the graves he filmed. The result is a five-minute video that blends drone views, portraits, and history into a moving look at the city’s roots.
Brian shared the project on his Facebook page and plans to post the YouTube link next so more people can watch. For anyone who loves Fort Worth’s history or simply appreciates seeing familiar places through fresh eyes, it is well worth the time.
The video offers a quiet reminder of the lives that shaped the city long before the skyline rose, and of the local storytellers still working to keep those memories alive.
