A Benbrook neighbor is looking for a helping hand after a backyard project took a few unexpected turns. What started as a simple fix on a Pit Boss grill quickly turned into a full breakdown and rebuild, and now the smoker refuses to cooperate.
The auger clogged first, triggering a chain reaction. While trying to clear it, the igniter broke. After replacing both the igniter and the faceplate, the grill now clicks instead of running properly. A few residents noted that clicking often indicates the auger is stuck or that the motorโs cog teeth have been damaged. If the auger does not spin when disconnected, the motor assembly may need to be replaced.
Nonetheless, the owner is hoping to find a handyman who knows pellet grills and is willing to take a look, and they are ready to pay for the help.
Other residents chimed in with encouragement and their own grill stories. One said YouTube can be a lifesaver when repairs get confusing. Another shared that they had to replace several parts on their Louisiana Grill over the summer, including the igniter, auger motor assembly, and motherboard.
For now, the resident is still searching for someone with hands-on experience who can help get the Pit Boss fired up again. It is a reminder that sometimes even simple home projects turn into shared community conversations, and neighbors are often the best place to start.
