With district competition around the corner, Western Hills track athletes are finding their stride at the right time.
At the Weatherford Kangaroo Relays on March 26, both the boys and girls teams showed steady progress, with several athletes turning in personal bests that point to a strong finish to the season.
Freshman A’Quasia Anderson led the way with one of the most notable performances of the meet. She set a new personal record in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking in at 55.20 and cutting three full seconds off her previous time.
That momentum carried across the team. Justin Hurst posted an 11.78 in the 100-meter dash. Jo’Zaiyah Russell finished the 200-meter dash in 26.33, while Darius Roberson recorded a 24.00 in the same event. In the field, Ja’Res Gray reached 33-0.75 in the shot put.
With district around the corner, this is the kind of progress you want to see.
