Western Hills Students Revive Campus Recycling and Take Learning Into the Field.

The Cougar Green Team is back in action at Western Hills High School.

Mr. Chassen’s AP Environmental Science students have officially restarted the school’s recycling program, bringing a hands-on approach to sustainability back to campus. More recycling bins are set to arrive in mid-December, making it easier for students and staff to pitch in.

The class also stepped outside the classroom for a recent visit to Fort Worth’s Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities. Students got an up-close look at how the city cleans and manages its water, turning a field trip into a real-world lesson on environmental responsibility.

It is a strong start for a group committed to helping the school and the community go greener.
