For high school seniors, May often feels like the turning point, one last stretch before graduation and the start of everything next.
At Western Hills High School, that moment will take center stage during Senior Decision Day on May 13, a celebration that recognizes the Class of 2026 and the paths they are choosing after graduation.
Whether students are headed to college, the military, trade school, or straight into the workforce, Decision Day gives them a chance to be celebrated by family, friends, and classmates. Seniors will walk the stage, hear their names announced, share their future plans, sign the class banner, and mark the moment together in the school auditorium.
Before the big day, students can also take part in Table Decorating Night on May 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. Families are encouraged to help decorate tables with college gear, photos, and personal items that reflect each student’s next chapter.
The main Decision Day event begins May 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
There is also a little extra motivation this year. Participating students will be entered into a drawing for a $500 scholarship, with funds sent directly to their college or university. To qualify, students must be fully enrolled in a two-year or four-year institution.
The deadline to register is May 6 by the end of the school day, and school leaders note that no late sign-ups will be accepted.
