Western Hills High School is turning the spotlight on something that matters long before tipoff: Attendance.
On March 2 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., the WHHS gym will host March Madness, a campus event centered on the simple message: every day is game day when it comes to showing up for school.
The evening blends purpose with fun. Dinner will be provided, students can enjoy open gym time, and every student who attends will receive a free basketball. To receive the basketball, students must bring a father figure or male mentor who is 21 or older.
School leaders say strong attendance is directly linked to student success, and this event is designed to reinforce that message while building connections between students and positive role models.
For Benbrook families, it is a chance to step into the gym, share a meal, and support a culture where showing up each day is part of winning.
