Students at Western Hills High School are getting a deeper look at the legacy that continues to shape leadership in aviation and military service.
A new collection of photos and historical highlights showcases the impact of Black military leaders in aerospace, from early trailblazers to modern-day influencers.
The feature was part of a recent presentation led by retired Colonel Russell Malesky, an Air Force JROTC instructor, who walked cadets through the history, innovation, and service that define Aerospace Science and Black Military Leadership.
The presentation also spotlighted Western Hills alumni who have carried that legacy forward through their own paths of service and leadership. For students in the room, it connected history to real people and showed how discipline, courage, and commitment can open doors across generations.
