A piece of living history will be sitting at a coffee table in Benbrook this weekend.
Douglas N. Petersen, a Vietnam-era Dustoff pilot and author of Call Sign: Dustoff 34, will hold a book signing from 9 AM to noon at Black Rifle Coffee Company, 9001 Benbrook Blvd.
Petersen’s book recounts his time flying medical evacuation missions in Vietnam, where Dustoff crews transported wounded soldiers under intense conditions. His story offers a firsthand look at the risks, split-second decisions, and quiet courage required of those crews.
On most Saturdays, Petersen and fellow veterans from the local VFW gather at the shop for coffee and conversation. This weekend, the broader community is invited to pull up a chair, meet the author, and hear stories that stretch far beyond the printed page.
