For students who have ever wondered what it feels like to hold a violin or draw a bow across a string, Benbrook Middle-High School is opening the door to find out.
The school’s orchestra program is hosting a String Drive on Thursday, April 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., inviting students who are not currently in orchestra to come explore. The evening is designed to be simple and welcoming. Students and families can drop in, try different instruments, and ask questions at their own pace.
The event will take place in the orchestra room at Benbrook Middle School, located off Westpark Drive. It offers a hands-on way to experience music, especially for those considering joining the program in the future.
For many students, moments like this are where interest turns into something more. A first note, a new sound, and the start of a journey they did not expect.
