A new solid waste and recycling contract was among the biggest items before the Benbrook City Council when members met Thursday night at City Hall.
The Oct. 1 agenda called for council consideration of a contract with Best Trash North Texas LLC for the city’s solid waste and recycling services.
Supporting documents included the proposal evaluation rankings, proposed residential base rates for 2027, and the proposed service agreement. Because the agenda states that items are subject to final action, the agenda alone does not establish how council ultimately voted.
Council also considered several city purchases, including four 2027 Ford Interceptor Utility police vehicles. Other items included renewals for Tyler Technologies software used for finance and municipal court operations, as well as Sam Houston State University’s CRIMES software.
The evening also included the city’s financial report for the period ending Aug. 31, with supporting documents covering revenue, expenditures, and sales tax comparisons.
Residents had opportunities to speak during both the agenda-specific citizen comment period and informal citizen comments, with comments limited to three minutes. Benbrook City Council regularly meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month at 911 Winscott Road.
