A Thursday morning commute turned chaotic after an oversized semi-trailer tipped onto its side at the busy intersection of US Highway 377 and I-20 near Hoffbrau Steak & Grill House.
The incident occurred just after 9:30 a.m., causing major delays for drivers heading westbound on I-20 and northbound on Loop 820.
Witnesses reported a loud screech, followed by commotion, near Pratt Auto Works, as the semi appeared to lose balance under the traffic light. The trailer remained partially upright but lodged in place, blocking multiple lanes. Several heavy-duty pickup trucks were brought in to help stabilize and right the vehicle while authorities responded to the scene.
Traffic along 377 quickly backed up as crews worked to clear the area. Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the incident, though witnesses speculated it could have been a mechanical issue or a turn taken too sharply.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway is fully cleared. This is a developing story, and updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
