A growing number of Benbrook residents are voicing frustration over ongoing construction activity in the Trinity Estates area, citing heavy dust, environmental impact, and flood safety concerns.
Longtime resident Greg Clem returned from a trip to find a temporary fence installed to control dust, but said it has done little to stop the clouds drifting into nearby homes. He and others say the dust and dirt movement have made the area unpleasant and potentially unsafe. Some have called for the use of water trucks to reduce airborne debris before crews begin shifting soil.
Beyond the dust, residents are also worried about floodplain development in Trinity Estates Phase 4. One neighbor reported seeing fill dirt being hauled into the area and questioned whether a valid permit exists, noting that the previous one expired in August.
Clem and other residents are urging voters to support candidates they believe will prioritize environmental responsibility and protect existing neighborhoods from overdevelopment. They’ve directed concerned neighbors to SaveTrinityEstates.org for more information on the issue.
City officials have not yet publicly responded to the recent concerns.
