Benbrook has another reason to be proud as a Western Hills Cougar Band student takes the next big step on a statewide stage.
Dontae Salgado will compete this weekend at the UIL Central Texas Area Band Auditions, hosted at Coppell High School, with a chance to earn a coveted spot in the Texas All-State Band.
The achievement caps an already standout year for Salgado, who has earned Bass Trombone positions in both the Fort Worth Independent School District Band and the Region 5/30 Band. This final round places him alongside some of the most talented student musicians in Texas.
As he heads into auditions, the Western Hills community is rallying behind him. Salgado’s hard work, discipline, and musicianship continue to put Benbrook in the spotlight, and many will be cheering him on as he competes for All-State honors.
