Drivers using RM 2871 to get in and out of Benbrook may want to allow extra time or find another route for now.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane in the construction area as crews work on a new turn lane connected to the Edged data center project.
The lane closure is already creating backups. Drivers traveling through the area Tuesday reported waits of about 15 minutes, with traffic at times stretching beyond the railroad tracks. One driver said only a small group of vehicles was allowed through before traffic switched directions again.
If you have somewhere to be on time, avoiding RM 2871 may save you some frustration until traffic begins moving more normally.
