A social media post about a possible vehicle break-in near Winscott Road sparked dozens of responses from Benbrook residents sharing similar experiences.
The resident reported finding items scattered throughout a vehicle parked in their driveway, with no apparent signs of forced entry. A second vehicle was also reportedly targeted but remained locked.
As neighbors joined the conversation, several described vehicle entries, thefts, and attempted break-ins near Winscott Road, Vernon Castle, and other nearby neighborhoods, including Trinity Estates. One resident said Benbrook Police informed them that multiple vehicles in the area had reportedly been targeted the same night.
Residents affected are encouraged to file a report with the Benbrook Police Department, even if little was taken or the evidence is limited. Reports can be made by calling 817-249-1610. The department is located at 1080 Mercedes Street, and its lobby is open 24 hours a day.
While many incidents appeared to involve unlocked vehicles, at least one resident reported a locked truck being entered, resulting in stolen equipment and vehicle damage.
