Benbrook’s youth baseball and softball season is already drenched in disappointment, with yet another round of rain forcing the closure of all fields and cancellation of games.
But the weather isn’t the only challenge this week—unauthorized access to the locked fields has now caused avoidable damage, putting future games even further in jeopardy.
Despite posted closures, someone made their way onto the wet fields, leaving behind signs of foot traffic and possibly more. The result? Torn-up turf that may take time—and resources—to fix.
For parents and players already frustrated by the soggy season, it’s another frustrating setback.
Consider this a friendly reminder from fellow Benbrook families: when the fields are closed, they’re closed for a reason.
Let’s all do our part to protect the spaces our kids love to play on. Here’s hoping repairs are minimal and game day returns soon.
