Old Gear Can Give Another Benbrook Athlete a Turn.

That bat, glove or pair of cleats collecting dust could still have another season left in them.

The Benbrook Youth Baseball & Softball Association is collecting gently used baseball and softball equipment to help young athletes who may not have access to the gear they need.

Donations can include bats, gloves, helmets, cleats, catcher’s gear, bat bags, practice equipment, baseballs, softballs and other usable gear. Items can be dropped off at the BYBSA concession stand Saturday at 1 p.m., with collections continuing every Saturday in August at the same time.

And if your own player needs something new for fall ball, BYBSA families have another reason to shop this weekend. A special coupon offers 20% off an entire in-store purchase at participating Dick’s Sporting Goods locations from Aug. 7 through Aug. 10, subject to the exclusions listed on the coupon.

Clear out the old gear, help another kid get on the field, then get ready for fall ball.
