North Texas Sandlot Meetup Brings Summer Baseball Back to the Dirt.

Before travel teams and packed schedules took over youth sports, summer baseball usually meant a glove, a bat, a patch of grass, and whoever showed up ready to play.

That spirit is making a comeback later this month as the DFW Nostalgic Outdoors Club hosts its first summer sandlot meetup of the year at South Z Boaz Park.

The casual pickup-style baseball gathering is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Participants are encouraged to meet at the Winscott Road entrance and bring gloves, bats, water, and a good attitude.

Organizers say the event is less about competition and more about reconnecting with the simple side of summer sports, where neighbors, friends, and families can spend a couple of hours outside enjoying the game.

The meetup will take place at 6172 South Z Boaz Park Drive in Fort Worth, just outside Benbrook.

More details about the event can be found through the DFW Nostalgic Outdoors Club Facebook event page.
