There is a new spot in town, and this weekend they are celebrating the Benbrook way with food, music, and a full backyard-party vibe.
Jakes and Tacos & Avocados is officially open and hosting a two-day celebration May 2 through May 3 featuring live music, face painting, giveaways, and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.
Saturday’s lineup includes performances from Leslie Austin and Aristide Garofalo from noon to 2 p.m., followed by Carly Tate from 6 to 9 p.m. Face painting will also be available Saturday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Trey Moran takes the stage from noon to 2 p.m., with merch and swag giveaways planned later in the afternoon.
The restaurant invited residents to “bring the family, bring your friends, bring your boo, bring yourself, and let’s have some fun.”
In a city growing as quickly as Benbrook, openings like this tend to become more than another pin on the map. They become places where neighbors run into each other, kids burn off energy, and someone at the table inevitably says, “We should’ve come here sooner.”
