Tournaments can test a team’s resolve, and that was certainly the case for the Benbrook Lady Bobcats at the Springtown and Mineral Wells Softball Tournament.
After dropping their first three games, the Lady Bobcats regrouped and closed the weekend with back-to-back wins, building momentum as they head back into district play next week.
The highlight came during a 13-8 victory over Arlington Heights Lady Yellowjackets, when junior pitcher Natalya Muzquiz recorded her 200th career strikeout.
In the middle of a competitive game, it was a milestone that reflected years of work in the circle and steady growth as a leader on the field.
The Lady Bobcats head home with renewed confidence and a renewed focus on district goals. The early losses did not define the weekend. The response did.
And with postseason aspirations ahead, Muzquiz and the Lady Bobcats appear to be finding their rhythm at the right time.
