Benbrook residents may want to keep phones charged and weather alerts turned on over the next couple of nights.
According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, a 20-50% chance of severe weather is setting up across Northwestern North Texas from late Tuesday night through early Friday morning. Forecasters say scattered showers and a few storms are expected, with the best chances generally along and north of I-20.
While much of Central Texas is expected to stay dry, our area sits in a marginal risk zone, meaning storms may be isolated but still capable of producing substantial impacts.
A cold front is expected to move through on Friday, bringing cooler, more seasonable temperatures just in time for the weekend.
This is not a reason to panic, but it is a good reminder to stay weather aware overnight, especially if you are a light sleeper or have outdoor items that could be affected by strong winds or hail.
