The West Arena buzzed with excitement Sunday afternoon as hundreds gathered for the annual Fiddle Showdown at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. This highly anticipated event awarded $7,500 in scholarships to talented teens who wowed the crowd with their musical skills.
Open to Texas students aged 14 to 18, the competition challenges contestants to perform three tunes: a fast-paced breakdown, a waltz, and a tune of their choice. Five finalists earn scholarships toward their first semester of college.
Hats off to Benbrookโs Greg Tarpley and Michael Tarpley for making it to the finals, and congratulations to Southlake Carrollโs Thomas Paskvan for clinching first place and securing his title as a repeat fiddle champion.
