“Landman” Films in Jacksboro.

Benbrook and Fort Worth locals might have spotted camera crews and closed streets lately, and here’s why. Taylor Sheridan’s gritty oil drama Landman, starring Billy Bob Thornton, is back in action, filming its second season.

The show, set in West Texas but filmed mainly in Tarrant County, has been shot everywhere from downtown Fort Worth to the greens of River Crest Country Club. Now, production has shifted an hour northwest to Jacksboro, which is doubling as Odessa for a few scenes. Crews transformed local spots into fictional police departments and even shut down part of Highway 380 for a full day of filming.

Back in Fort Worth, Landman recently filmed additional scenes near the Worthington Hotel, which involved street closures and a large crew presence. Season 2 is set to hit Paramount+ this November, and if you’re a fan of Sheridan’s other work like Yellowstone, you can expect the same Texas storytelling grit with some familiar local backdrops.

So if you’re driving around Jacksboro and see a few “City of Odessa” signs or a film crew on the corner, now you know. You’re witnessing a bit of Hollywood made right here at home.
