The Western Hills Lady Cougars closed out 2024 strong and are keeping the momentum alive in 2025.
Fresh from a holiday break, the team edged out the Dunbar Lady Wildcats in a nail-biter, securing a one-point victory that boosted their record to 9-10 overall and 3-1 in district play.
But the Lady Cougars weren’t done proving themselves. Last night, they dominated the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Lady Eagles in a commanding 51-15 win, pushing their season record to an even 10-10 and improving to 4-1 in district.
Defense has been the cornerstone of their recent success. During this four-game winning streak, the Lady Cougars have limited opponents to just 28.5 points per game, showcasing their ability to lock teams down on both ends of the court.
Next up is a showdown against the Southwest Lady Raiders, an evenly matched team that is 9-8 overall and 4-1 in district play. Provided the North Texas winter weather doesn’t interfere, the game is set for Friday at 6 p.m. A winter mix is expected to roll in Thursday and Friday, prompting Fort Worth ISD to issue advisories for potential delays or cancellations.
