Christmas may have passed, but the spirit behind this story still matters.
Just before the holiday break, the Lady Cougars Soccer Team at Western Hills High School stepped up in a quiet but meaningful way. Team members helped move donated food bags into the school’s front hallway so students could easily grab one on their way out before the holidays.
By the end of the day, every bag was gone. Each one represented a student who would head into the break with a little more support and a reminder that their community cares.
The effort was made possible by generous donors who gave money, food, and time to help assemble the bags for students across the Western Hills pyramid. The players simply helped make sure those gifts reached the right hands.
It was not about recognition or wins on the field. It was about teammates serving classmates and showing what community looks like when it matters most.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave, helped, and carried the load. Stories like this are a reminder that kindness often shows up quietly, but its impact lasts well beyond the season.
