The Lady Bobcats are back in the win column, and they had to fight through five sets to get there.
Coming off a difficult stretch that included six straight losses and injuries to key players, the Lady Bobcats hit the road Tuesday to face Arlington Lamar in a match that swung back and forth all night.
Benbrook edged Lamar 25-23 in the opening set before the Lady Vikings answered 25-19 in the second. The Lady Bobcats returned the favor with a 25-19 third-set win, but the Lady Vikings rallied to take the fourth 25-17, forcing a deciding fifth set.
With the match on the line, the Lady Bobcats pulled out a 15-13 victory to finish off the Lady Vikings and improve to 9-9 on the season.
The Lady Bobcats now get two days before another Arlington opponent comes calling. The Lady Bobcats host crosstown rival Arlington Heights Lady Yellowjackets at 5 p.m. Friday, looking to turn one hard-fought win into the start of another run.
