Friday started with hope for the Benbrook Lady Bobcats, who entered the game looking to extend a three-game win streak and build momentum heading into spring break.
Instead, the afternoon quickly turned.
Facing Mineral Wells Lady Rams, the Lady Bobcats struggled early with defensive miscues that led to five runs in the first inning. The challenges carried into the second, where a series of errors and missed opportunities allowed the Lady Rams to break the game open with an 11-run inning.

Despite the setback, the Lady Bobcats continued to compete. Kaylee Boswell, Mya Vazquez, and Maddy Davila each recorded hits, with Boswell accounting for the team’s lone run. Mineral Wells closed things out with a 19 to 1 win in three innings.
While the result was not what Benbrook hoped for, the bigger picture remains steady. The Lady Bobcats are 10-11 overall and 2-0 in district play, currently holding the top spot in the standings.
The focus now shifts back to district games next week, with a road matchup at Carter Riverside on Monday followed by a home game against Dunbar on Tuesday.
Going into spring break and back into district play, the Lady Bobcats look to learn from the loss, reset, and return to the level of play that has already positioned them as a district contender.
