Benbrook families, here is a creative way for your kids to make a difference and show off their art skills.
The 3rd Annual Smokey Bear Poster Contest is still accepting entries, but time is running out. Texas students from kindergarten through 12th grade have until August 30, 2025, to submit their original artwork promoting wildfire prevention.
The contest is divided into four grade groups, so everyone has a fair shot at being featured in the 2026 Texas Smokey Bear calendar. Entries can come in from schools, homeschools, camps, and youth programs, or you can submit them independently.
Each poster should share a clear wildfire prevention message that relates to issues Texans face every year. Besides helping protect our natural resources, it is a chance for young artists to get recognition across the state.
To find all the rules and entry details, visit the official contest page at the Texas A&M Forest Service website.
