Despite plenty of online skepticism, Texas Department of Transportation delivered as promised, reopening all lanes of I-30 through downtown Dallas by 5 a.m. Monday.
The on-time reopening marks another major step in the Canyon Corridor Project, an $888 million effort aimed at widening the highway and improving traffic flow through one of North Texas’ busiest stretches. For commuters and anyone heading east, the return of full access brought a welcome start to the week.
That said, this is far from the finish line. The project runs through 2030 and will include several more large-scale closures along the way. For now, lanes are open, traffic is moving, and TxDOT is signaling that long-term progress is staying on schedule.
