For many local kids, summer officially begins when they step into the barn at Benbrook Stables.
Horse Camp season is now underway, bringing another summer of hands-on learning, new friendships, and plenty of time in the saddle. Campers are getting an up-close look at the world of horsemanship, learning everything from grooming and bathing horses to tacking up, basic care, and the daily responsibilities of caring for these remarkable animals.
Of course, the week isn’t all chores and lessons.
Campers also enjoy games, arts and crafts, hayrides, and plenty of opportunities to make new friends along the way. One of the week’s biggest highlights has been the group camp chants, where campers show off their teamwork, creativity, and camp spirit while cheering one another on.
The combination of learning, confidence-building, and outdoor fun has made Horse Camp a longtime summer tradition for many local families.
As another season gets underway, Benbrook Stables says it’s proud of the enthusiasm and teamwork shown by this year’s campers and looks forward to creating many more memories throughout the summer.
For these young horse lovers, it’s more than just camp. It’s a chance to learn responsibility, build confidence, and experience a little bit of ranch life right here in Benbrook.
