BENBROOK, TX — A dramatic police pursuit Monday night spilled from Fort Worth into nearby neighborhoods just outside Benbrook, causing quite a stir for residents along the way.
The chase began near Las Vegas Trail and I-30 and ended when the suspect crashed a stolen Hiley Toyota valet SUV into a residential area. After the crash, the suspect took off on foot, prompting Fort Worth Police to deploy both a helicopter and K-9 units to track him down.
Residents in the Sunset Court area were asked to shelter indoors as the search intensified. The suspect was eventually found hiding in the backyard of a home listed for sale in the 8900 block and taken into custody without further incident.
While the situation caused brief concern, police quickly contained the threat, and no injuries have been reported. The investigation is still unfolding, and updates will be shared as more details are released.
