Benbrook residents, it’s time to go Lights Out for Texas!
Spring migration is in full swing, and millions of birds are crossing the Lone Star State. From now until June 15, The Nature Conservancy in Texas is asking everyone to turn off or dim non-essential lights between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. to help protect these feathered travelers.
Bright artificial lights can disorient migrating birds, increasing their risk of collisions with buildings and structures. By making this small change, you can help create a safer path for them as they journey north.
