Severe storms brought chaos to Fort Worth on Friday night as flash flooding overwhelmed parts of Hulen Street south of Interstate 30, leaving several drivers stranded and prompting swift-water rescues by police and fire crews.
Witnesses described rising water levels that quickly engulfed vehicles, forcing emergency responders to wade through flooded intersections to reach those trapped. Traffic in the area came to a standstill as crews worked to ensure everyone’s safety and prevent further incidents.
The National Weather Service had warned of potential flash flooding across Tarrant County earlier in the evening, and the storm delivered with torrential downpours that hit low-lying areas particularly hard.
