Glass Named Western Hills High School Teacher of the Year.

Western Hills High School has reason to celebrate.

On February 9, 2026, Western Hills High School Choir Director Blake Glass was named Teacher of the Year for the 2025 to 2026 school year. For many on campus, the news felt both exciting and well-deserved.

In a short time at Western Hills, Glass has transformed the choir program, increasing participation and helping students reach new milestones and first-time achievements. More importantly, he has created a space where students feel seen, challenged, and inspired. His passion for music shows up daily, not just in performances, but in the steady confidence he builds in each student who walks into his classroom.

Colleagues describe him as dedicated and steady. Students know him as the teacher who pushes them to be better while reminding them why they love to sing.

Teacher of the Year honors often reflect more than strong lesson plans. They highlight impact. At Western Hills, that impact is evident in every rehearsal and in the pride of a growing program.

Benbrook joins the Cougar community in congratulating Mr. Glass on a recognition that speaks to hard work, heart, and a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
