Students at Benbrook Middle-High School’s high school campus were temporarily evacuated Friday after staff detected a strong odor and smoke inside the building.
According to school officials, the Fire Department responded and traced the issue to a Freon leak in the front office air conditioning compressor.
The school confirmed that the issue has been addressed, students have returned to their classrooms, and normal operations have resumed.
