There is a lot more beneath our feet around Fort Worth than most of us probably realize.
Local content creator Josh A. Harville recently went fossil hunting with Max, better known online as Cretaceous Max, and came away seeing familiar North Texas ground a little differently.
Max, who Harville identified as Chuck Norris’ grandson, leads private fossil-hunting trips around Fort Worth and surrounding areas. He teaches guests what to look for, provides the tools, and helps uncover signs of the prehistoric life that once lived there.
Harville said the biggest surprise was how many fossils were hiding in plain sight.
“They are everywhere and all around us, and we don’t even know it,” Harville shared.
Once Max showed the group what to look for, the landscape changed. What might normally look like another rock or piece of ground suddenly carried a much older story.
Harville described the outing as organized, educational, and memorable, especially for anyone curious about the history beneath North Texas soil.
Sometimes you do not have to travel far to discover something new. You just need someone to show you where to look.
