Tarrant County’s snakes had their turn. This Labor Day weekend, the fish are taking over.
The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will host its first Fishes of Tarrant County event Sept. 6 and 7, giving visitors a closer look at the variety of fish found in local waters.
Mark Pyle, creator of the Facebook group What Kind of Snake Is This? North Texas Educational Group, will exhibit a range of fish species found across Tarrant County and help visitors learn more about the aquatic life living closer to home than they may realize.
The exhibit will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days inside the Hardwicke Interpretive Center.
The program is free with paid admission to the Nature Center, making it an easy weekend stop for families who don’t mind getting a little fishy with their local nature lesson.
