Looking for a simple way to celebrate Father’s Day outdoors? The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge has one planned.
On Sunday, June 21, fathers will receive free admission to the nature center and are invited to spend part of the day making memories with their children at the annual Father’s Canoe Fest.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., dads and their kids can launch a canoe at no cost from the Canoe Launch area and enjoy time together on the water. Families are also welcome to bring fishing poles and tackle for catch-and-release fishing during the event.
Canoes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and 30-minute paddling time limits may apply to accommodate all participants.
Organizers note that Father’s Canoe Fest is reserved specifically for fathers and their children and is not a general public event.
For more information, visit Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge or call 817-392-7410.
Sometimes the best Father’s Day gift isn’t something you buy. It’s a few uninterrupted hours spent together outdoors.
